October 9, 2007. The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) releases the survey results on security spending for 2006. It showed enterprises are now spending 20% of their IT budgets on security, up from both 2004 and 2005. This recent survey indicates that government agencies are lagging on their commercial counter parts, with most federal agencies spending 2-5% on security, and most state agencies below that level.
